VW debuts Twin Up! Concept at Tokyo Motor Show

Volkswagen introduced the newest member of the XL1 family at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Twin Up! Essentially the plug-in hybrid version of the Up!, this four-seater concept car shares some of its drive system with the Volkswagen XL1 including its dual-clutch automatic transmission, diesel engine and electric motor. Nissan 370Z prices announced By Ben Pulman Motor Industry 27 January 2009 12:21 Nissan has announced prices for UK-spec 370 Z sports cars, and punters will be pleased to learn that the entry-level Zed will cost £26,895 – a mere £166 more than the 350Z. All cars of course come with a rear-wheel drive chassis and 328bhp 3.7-litre V6, but base-model 370Zs also have climate-control, electric seats, 18-inch wheels, automatic xenon lights, plus aux-in and Bluetooth connections. For an extra £3300 you can get the GT pack, which replaces your measly 18-inch alloys with 19in forged Rays items, gives you electric heated leather seats, upgrades your stereo and adds the Synchro Rev Control, which automatically blips the throttle on downshifts.

Jaguar Land Rover factory closure

Jaguar Land Rover are to close one of their production facilities in the Midlands JLR unions have already brokered a deal to ensure no job losses in the short term, but JLR are committed to rationalising their manufacturing across just two plants in the UK, instead of the existing three. The decision will be made about which plant to close in the next eighteen months. The most likely scenario is that JLR will close Solihull – which currently produces Land Rovers and employs 5000 people – and concentrate Land Rover production at Halewood.
